The Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill upgrade will improve 8kms of the Pacific Motorway (M1) between the Gateway Motorway and Loganlea Road. The project is the second stage of the M1 North upgrade program being delivered in a 3-stage rolling program from north to south.

 

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Demolition and removal of approximately 50 commercial and residential structures to facilitate the main upgrade project.
Management of PUP service and photovoltaic (solar) system disconnection to all properties requiring demolition (including all coordination with local authorities and PUP asset owners)
Pre-demolition asbestos audits to all commercial and residential structures (including but not limited to buildings, dwellings, swimming pools, sheds, and any other structures) to be demolished.
Safe removal and disposal of asbestos containing materials at all sites prior to demolition, including some friable asbestos.
Air monitoring during handling and removal of asbestos containing materials and provision of clearance certificates upon completion.
Supply, placement, and compaction of clean general fill materials to backfill depressions at properties following demolition works.
Supervision, access, and traffic management.
Three noise walls (3m-6m high), totalling approximately 600m; and associated reinstatements of adjacent property backyard landscaping.
Alternative noise treatment (Airconditioning).
Relocation and / or replacement of large business advertising signage to pre-empt resumptions  

McIlwain was engaged for the Early Works package which comprised the demolition and removal of all commercial and residential structures (including but not limited to buildings, dwellings, swimming pools, sheds foundations and any other structures (above and below ground); and construction of three noise walls the as required to facilitate the main works program delivered by others.
