Following several major rainfall events, Jenolan Caves Road was impacted by major erosion, significant slope failures, and landslides. Remediation work is required at several sections along the slope.
The site is located along Jenolan Caves Road, approximately 1.6 km south of Hampton. With significant slope failure and major erosion, preliminary repairs were required. The repair work to the upslope has included rock bolting, hydro mulching and rock fall mesh. Ongoing rehabilitation required to further secure the slope is currently underway.
The scope of works includes:
Replacement of seven culverts including scour protection
Replacement of traffic barrier
Shoulder reinstatement
Installation of 200 soil nails
Shotcreting over two locations along the slope
