The South Coast Region Natural Disaster Program is a series of projects in the Gold Coast Hinterland to restore full vehicular access after natural disasters in early 2022 affected the integrity of roads in the Lower Beechmont, Neranwood, and Lamington areas.
The emergency contract was awarded to McIlwain with immediate mobilisation to site. With the roads impacted by landslips or landslides, full road closures were required to begin the stabilisation works required to rehabilitate the embankments. Associated asphalting, drainage and concreting works commenced to allow for safe two-way traffic once complete. Slope stabilisation and road restoration works for roads affected by landslips in:
