The project involved the duplication of 5.4km of the Bruce Highway from Yeppoon Road through to 400m north of Terranova Drive, realignment of Boundary Road South (1.1km) and construction of two new service roads (1.6km), construction of all new stormwater and cross drainage, construction of three signalised intersections and construction of a dual lane roundabout at Sterling Drive.
Bridgework involves the construction of two bridges over Limestone Creek with PSC piles, the construction of two bridges over Ramsey Creek with CIP piles, and demolition of the existing Ramsey Creek Bridge and Limestone Creek Bridge. Upgrade will include provisions for cyclists and pedestrian traffic. McIlwain SGQ JV were awarded the project in November 2018 after an early works package that entailed PUP and Service Relocations.
