Beechmont Road is now Open!
McIlwain is proud to have completed works on Beechmont Road in Lower Beechmont. 🚧
Heavy rainfall caused a significant landslip on a section of road between Brushbox and North Roads in early 2022 and we were the first choice of the Department of Transport and Main Roads to fix it.
After 16 months of dedicated reconstruction works, 424 soil nails have been installed, 103 MassBlocs weighing 1.16 tonnes each placed on a reinforced concrete footing with 140 micropiles, 3200m3 of rock backfill placed and 200 tonnes of asphalt paved.
Fibrecreting, reinforced shotcreting, Telstra, pavement and guardrail works as well as installation of signage and linemarking were also part of the project scope.
